Write for us
Silver News Journal welcomes pitches that help general readers understand silver as a material, craft, object, historical presence or cultural symbol. Send proposals through the Contact page; please do not submit a finished article unless requested.
Ideas we welcome
We are interested in focused, evergreen ideas that explain a technique, compare object forms, clarify a historical context or examine how silver is used and understood in a particular setting. A strong pitch has a defined reader question and a clear reason the subject belongs in Silver News Journal.
What makes a good pitch
Briefly describe the proposed angle, the main point readers will take away and the context or sources you would use. Be specific about the scope: a precise subject is easier to assess than a broad survey. Make clear which details are factual and which are interpretation, and flag any access or rights considerations.
Sending a proposal
Use the Contact page and choose the editorial question option. Include your name, a way to reply and a concise outline of the idea. A pitch is a proposal, not a promise of publication, and we may suggest a different scope if an idea is a better fit in another form.
Objects make culture tangible
Silver News Journal looks beyond shine to the materials, skilled choices and shared meanings carried by silver objects. We aim to give curious readers clear ways to look more closely.
